Here’s a tale of love from the ancient farmlands of Lug Valley in the north-west of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. In the mustard fields, forests and traditional ‘Kath-khuni’ houses of the last village Telang; I was welcomed by yet another tale of yore. With a rosy blush on their cheeks, the locals spun this sweet tale of love. When a man from Telang village marries a woman from the icy mountains lacing the opposite side, the groom has to carry the bride and trek back home before the sun rises. He added “Legend has it that centuries ago, a groom couldn’t get home with his bride before sunrise and their love froze into a mountain”. Such was their fate. Alas! Their eternal love never found its sunshine.  #Folklores
